Top Rated Robot Vacuums
A robot vacuum will keep your floors clean enough to decrease the frequency of hoovering manually. Choose a robot vacuum that is well-trained in navigation, can clean corners and stairs, and that has an enormous bin that will need to be cleaned out every now and then.
There are models that clean and charge on their own This feature could be beneficial for those with pets or children. A majority of the top performers in our tests have great ability to overcome obstacles.
1. iRobot Roomba i3+ EVO
The i3+ EVO is identical to its sibling, the i3 EVO. They differ only in the fact that the i3+ has self-emptying capabilities. The i3+ is a good option for those looking for a a fully automated, hands-off cleaning experience, but want to manually empty the dust bin when it is full.
Both robots are adept at removing surface dirt on floors and carpets and can maneuver around furniture and other obstacles. iAdapt navigation software makes smart maps of your home that help the i3+ EVO to navigate and clean in a manner that maximizes efficiency. The i3+ does not have obstacle avoidance capabilities like the i7+ or any other top-rated robots we test. It may get stuck on power cords or socks and have trouble moving between different surfaces, like hardwood and rug.
iRobot suggests that you clean the area around the i3+ EVO vacuums before using it. This includes getting rid of any toys or other clutter it might encounter. It's also a good idea to keep the dust bin and filter clean so they aren't clogged by dirt. When the i3+ EVO's internal bin is empty or the battery is low it returns to the docking station and emptys the dirt into the docking station's external dustbin. Then it continues cleaning from where it began. The battery's lifespan is around an hour-and-a-half of continuous use. It takes three hours to charge.
2. Roomba by iRobot
The iRobot Roomba i7+ is the top model in the iRobot flagship line and comes with all the latest features. It has self-charging and self-navigating, but the most significant feature is its self-emptying bin. This will eliminate the need for regular maintenance.
The Roomba i7+ can remember up to 10 floor plans and their names using Imprint Smart Mapping, which lets it identify rooms to clean them more efficiently. It also integrates with the iRobot Home app to let you schedule cleaning jobs and direct your robot by voice or through the app.
The i7+ is more efficient and more maneuverable in our tests compared to the eufy RoboVac G30. It also picked up large pet hair pieces from any surface including carpeting. Its greatest advantage over the Eufy is its self-emptying garbage bin that eliminates the main sources of maintenance and lowers the cost of recurring maintenance.
We were also impressed with the i7+'s compatibility with Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant AI services. We utilized these services to instruct the robot to start or stop cleaning sessions as well as move around the room and even vacuum a specific area. The iRobot Home App made it easy to connect the i7+ with these services. After connecting we were able to communicate with the i7+ using voice commands such as "Hey Alexa, vacuum the master bedroom." The iRobot Home app also provides options for managing the i7+'s settings and monitoring its performance.
3. Dyson Cyclone V10
This tiny Dyson model is a sports car in a sea of vacuums powered by cordless that resemble minivans and buses. It is powerful enough to replace a stand-up vacuum in a majority of homes, yet it is also small enough to fit on a bookcase or coffee table.
The V10 is powered with a 7-cell energy-dense Lithium-ion battery that can provide energy that lasts for 60 minutes. Its sophisticated whole-machine filtration system captures allergens and expels cleaner air back into your home. Its specialized cleaning head drives bristles made of nylon that are stiff into carpet to collect large particles and fine dust. It has three different suction modes that can be adapted to the specific task. It is able to swiftly change from floor vacuum to handheld vacuum and vice versa.
This model has a dock that can charge the Dyson to 100% in 3.5 hours. It also offers an easy access to two attachments as well as a wand. This is a major improvement over older Dysons which require a long charge and are difficult to store.
The V10's main drawback is its limited running time. As CR's tests have shown, its claims to run up to 60 minutes are a bit misleading. This is a standard battery-powered vacuum's run time. That's still enough run time to get rid of the majority of an average-sized house, but not quite long enough to cover every area (though a second run-through usually will suffice). However, this model doesn't have its advantages It's lighter and more mobile than the older cordless Dysons and its vacuuming performance is noticeably superior on carpets with a low pile.
4. iRobot Roomba 694"
One of iRobot's most adored robot vacuums the 694 is an affordable model that's an excellent choice for people who don't wish to spend too much on a robot. It could pick up most types of debris in our tests, and frequently went over the same area multiple times to ensure a thorough clean. Its flat front allows it to reach corners and the edges of walls.
robot floor cleaner makes use of iAdapt technology to avoid obstacles and navigate your home. However, it isn't equipped with the mapping capabilities of more advanced models, including our top picks, i3+EVO and the j7+ Series. It may get stuck on phone cords or furniture and often runs out of power before returning to its base.
The Xiaomi Mi robot vacuum is superior to the Roomba 694 in many ways because it has fewer parts that require regular maintenance, is fitted with an allergen-trapping HEPA filter, incurs lower recurring costs, has more advanced automation capabilities and is better at moving itself. It also has a bigger dustbin and can charge faster.

The sleek RoboVac X8 has a superior battery life than the Roomba. It also comes with physical boundaries and can be controlled with your smartphone's voice assistant. It also feels better-built, has a more powerful motor, and is able to perform better on bare floors and low-pile carpet, while offering a wider range of features for automation.
5. Samsung Jet Bot AI+
Samsung is a name you see on all sorts of electronic gadgets for your home So it's no surprise that they're also one of the most popular robot vacuum and mop manufacturers. Jet Bot AI+ has an advanced onboard technology that allows to navigate and avoid obstacles.
The app offers a wide range of options to customize your robotic cleaner. These include virtual barriers, mopping levels and behavior customizations docking frequency settings and many more. The app is easy to learn and use similar to other Samsung devices.
In our tests, the Jet Bot AI+ excelled on hard floors and dealt with dog hair (on carpet) quite well, clearing up 86% of it. It didn't do very well in avoiding taller objects like socks or cords. This was disappointing. It's also more expensive than other models that we tested, and this could be a problem for some shoppers.
The smart vacuum comes with an onboard camera that is accessible through the app, and you can also set up a live streaming from the robot's cleaning station. This feature allows you check in on your children or pets while you're away. The dustbin and the filter can be cleaned to ensure a quick, painless clean-up. Check This Out has a clean station that self-empties, which helps keep the robot's trash bin clean and optimizes its suction power for each cleaning run.
6. Black & Decker Robot Vacuum
Unlike other robotic vacuums, that are made for carpets and hard floors, Black and Decker robots are designed specifically for hard floors. They have a wider cleaning path as well as a large dustbin that holds 2X more debris than competitors to keep the cleaning area free of debris for the longest period of time. They also have two side sweepers to clean around corners and edges. The POWERSERIES Extreme model comes with AutoSense technology, which detects whether it's picking up dirt or debris on the surface and automatically adjusts its power level. The vacuum also has an app that lets users to see an interactive map, control functions, and set schedules. You can also check the status of the vacuum and then send it to its dock for charging at the click of a button. The app also allows you to customize the LED lights on top of the vacuum using different colors, so that you can easily identify the areas where it's focused or where it's gotten stuck.
The application also allows you to steer the robot manually in the event of need. For instance, my living room rug has a darkly colored border that tends to make it difficult for other robots I've tried. However the HRV 425BL continued to move across the border, but it didn't register it as an incline. Also, the ability to create a weekly cleaning schedule is a fantastic time-saving feature.
